New vintage Balbás Cask 2018

A wine aged 5 months in American oak barrels, 100% Tempranillo.

We have launched the new vintage of Balbás Barrica, in this case 2018. A year that has been classified as 'Very good' in terms of the vintage, and that is that a total of 125 million kg have been collected in the Ribera del Duero.

Its five months in the barrel make the wood begin to leave a mark in a wine that will not leave any palate indifferent. Thus, we could define it by talking about the elaboration, tasting notes and a few brief touches of pairing.

ElaborationPairing: This wine comes from the upper part of the Rosedal and La Dehesa, Carremolinos, Zumbrin, Carranguix, La Calva and Los Valdillanes estates. The vineyard is around 20 and 35 years old and is born in poor soils of sand and clay, we even find gravelly terrain. It is harvested by hand. Once in the tank, fermentation takes place naturally, with native yeast to preserve the character of our land. It is aged for 5 months in new American oak barrels.

CATA's notesAppearance: Cherry coloured, its purple rim is clean and bright. It has a fresh and expressive nose that brings notes of sweet spices and red berries. On the palate it presents itself with sweet tannins and subtle toasted notes provided by the barrels. In addition, it has a long and persistent finish.

Pairing: The barrel aging of this wine makes it perfect for local sausages, smoked meats, and grilled vegetables.
